About WESCO

In 1907 J.P. Coghlin founded the Page Electric Company which shortly thereafter was renamed Coghlin Electric. Through over a half century's worth of acquisitions, improvements and innovations the Coghlin Electric Company developed into the regional powerhouse known as Coghlin Electric / Electronics.

Since the 1970's we have focused on providing unparalleled value to our customers through innovative solution selling. We have been a leader in the early adoption of many powerful programs focused on bringing technologically forward and cost effective products and services to market with expedience.

The two key solutions that we have marketed most successfully are our array of vendor managed inventory programs, which we first introduced in 1990; and our unique value-add model of core capabilities: custom cable and harness assemblies, electrical and electromechanical sub-assembly, product modification, custom coatings, drive in-a-box assemblies, component kitting, installation kits and component cutting and forming.

During the early to mid 1990's, we made several cornerstone acquisitions, including Greenshaw Electronics, JLC and Armor Battery. These acquisitions doubled Coghlin Electric / Electronics total sales and capabilities. In 1991, as a founding member of the integrated supply consortium then known as IDG, we were integral in the formation of a group of regionally based distributors offering "one stop shopping" to New England's industrial sector. This group is now know as iPower®, a national supply-chain solutions provider which includes 8 partners in New England.

In June of 1999, the Coghlin family accepted a bid from WESCO Distribution, Inc (NYSE: WCC), and Coghlin Electric / Electronics became an acquisition company of a $3.3 billion corporation and one of 330 branches. In 2000, as CEE WESCO, we became a Siemens Technology Center, rounding out our product offerings to include Siemens electrical and automation products.

In 2001, WESCO merged Coghlin Electric / Electronics with another showcase acquisition company, Control Corporation of America, headquartered in Richmond, Virginia. This created a new operating division of WESCO Distribution, Inc, known as CCA WESCO.

Today, we remain poised to serve the many markets that exist in New England with an exceptional team of great associates, manufacturer partners, affiliates and industry leading technologies. We are confident we have the people, products and programs to exceed your requirements.
